Collection: Nyloc Nuts

Nyloc nuts are hex nuts with a nylon ring set into the top. As the bolt passes through, the nylon grips the thread and creates prevailing torque, which stops the nut working loose under vibration. They are made to DIN 985 and are also called nylon insert lock nuts.

We stock nyloc nuts from M3 to M56 in coarse and fine metric thread, in zinc plated, nickel plated, A2 and A4 stainless steel and brass. A2 suits general use; A4 contains molybdenum and is the choice for marine and chemical exposure.

The nylon insert is rated to about 120°C. For hotter spots use an all metal lock nut such as our Stover or Cleveloc Nuts.
