Collection: High Tensile Hex Head Bolts
Hex head bolts have a plain, unthreaded shank under the head with the thread starting part way down. They follow the DIN 931 pattern, with ISO 4014 as the related ISO standard, and are the usual choice when a nut clamps parts together through clearance holes.
Our high tensile hex bolts come in property class 8.8 and 10.9. Under ISO 898-1, class 8.8 has a nominal tensile strength of 800 MPa and 10.9 has 1000 MPa. Sizes run from M5 to M48 in coarse and fine metric thread, lengths from 25 mm to 450 mm, in bare, zinc plated and hot dip galvanised finishes.
Zinc plating is a thin coating best kept indoors. Hot dip galvanising is far thicker and suits outdoor steelwork. For a bolt threaded right up to the head, see High Tensile Hex Head Set Screws.
